I’ve been practicing yoga & meditation for over 30 years, from the age of 16, but began teacher training in 2008. My personal practice really came into sharp focus when I became seriously ill 10 years ago - I was diagnosed as incurable & permanently disabled. Yoga & meditation really helped to ground me during that time. I’m formally trained in Hatha Yoga & my personal home practice is Kundalini Yoga, but I have a wide interest in all forms of yoga & bodywork & have worked with teachers from many different traditions & modalities. Because of my own health experiences, I’m very focused on the therapeutic & healing aspects of yoga & meditation.
I’ve most recently completed certifications in Pre & Post Natal Yoga & the Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) Foundation - there is always something new to learn! How would I describe my classes? Firstly, they are completely secular & practical. Secondly, they’re not your run of the mill yoga class! I blend aspects of Hatha, Kundalini & Yin Yoga with elements from physiotherapy, self administered acupressure to help release muscles, fascia & connective tissues, Qi Gong, Feldenkrais Method & Somatic Movement. I also teach deep relaxation methods including Yoga Nidra. My aim is to stretch, release, rebalance & relax you! In fitness, recovery is as important as the effort you put in during exercise. Exercise + effective recovery = physical fitness & mental wellbeing. My classes are perfect after a work out, on rest days, or at times where you just feel the need to slow down & smooth out some niggles in your body.
They are fully accessible & inclusive no matter what your age, gender, experience or ability. So please check the timetable & feel free to join me for a recovery revolution!
