SAFE EXERCISE
We have a comprehensive health, safety and cleaning plan in place to ensure the safety of members and staff, while maximising the opportunity for our members to return to fitness.
We will be increasing the frequency of cleaning in all areas of the club, changing facilities and toilets as well as anything that is commonly touched (e.g. door handles, card readers and equipment).
We will be providing all our staff with personal protective equipment including face masks. We will also be providing members with contactless entry and making hand sanitiser readily available for all.
GOLDEN RULES
We want to keep our members as safe as possible. So, we have created a new set of guidelines for using the gym. There are four golden rules:
- Don’t come in unless you are completely symptom-free.
- Stay 2m away from other members.
- Wash your hands regularly and thoroughly.
- Clean your workout space and equipment after use.
If we all work together as a community, we can still get the feel-good factor and feel safe and full of #positiveénergie at the same time.
Controlling Capacity
We have developed new layouts with the right spacing and equipment in use to ensure we can maintain safe social distancing. We are also limiting the number of members who are allowed in a club at the same time.
The énergie App has been updated to enable members to see live capacity and check when we are busy and when we are quiet. We are also asking all members to book a slot via our updated booking system. Each slot is for 60 minutes which will ensure that everyone has a fair chance to use the gym.
All these measures will ensure that our clubs won’t be overcrowded and all our members feel looked after, happy, and safe.

FAQs
Will I need to book a time slot to visit my gym?
Yes - to follow government guidelines and keep you safe, we must limit the number of members who are allowed in the club at the same time. This means that we are asking all members to book a slot via our updated booking system within the members area of the website or the énergie App. Each slot is for up to 60 minutes which will ensure that everyone has a fair chance to use the gym. Please no not come to the gym if you haven’t made a venue visit booking.
Can I book more than one space per day?
Unfortunately not – to make it fair for all members, you will only be able to book one session per day.
How far in advance can I book my scheduled time slot?
You will be able to book an advanced scheduled time slot of up to 48 hours. You will not be able to book a time slot beyond 48 hours simply to make it fair for all members to have an opportunity to book their own slot.
Are you restricting numbers in the gym?
Once we re-open, Yes - to follow government guidelines and ensure that social distancing and a safe training environment is maintained, we must limit the maximum number of members who are allowed in a club at the same time.
Will I be able to train with someone from my own household or "safety bubble"?
In order to maintain a safe environment for everyone, you will not be able to train within 2 metres of any other member including someone from your own household or safety bubble.
What are my membership options?
We offer two tiers of membership, so you can choose the one that best suits you.

You can also choose your ideal way to pay for your membership too – with options ranging from monthly to annually.

Are all clubs open as usual?
All of our clubs in England are NOW OPEN. Our clubs in Scotland are set to reopen on 26th April 2021 followed by our clubs in Wales set to reopn on 3rd May 2021. We are ready for any announcement on the reopening of gyms in Ireland and hope this will be in a few weeks’ time.
Can I book classes?
Providing your local club is now open, you can proceed to book classes using the énergie Fitness mobile app. Please speak to your local club directly or visit your club website page to find out class details.
Do I need to wear a mask and gloves to the gym?
Following Central Government guidance, we ask that all staff and members wear a face mask whllst in our gyms, except for when they are exercising in individual training areas. Gloves are not necessary.
What happens to my Personal Training sessions?
Please get in touch with your personal trainer directly. Many are offering remote / virtual sessions so you may be able to still go ahead with your session.
What about changing rooms and facilities?
This will change on a gym by gym basis. In general, our showers will be in use and members will be able to change and use the lockers provided. TO maintain safe social distancing, some showers and lockers may not be in use.
How will you maintain cleanliness and safety standards?
Each week, every gym will complete a strict and thorough audit to ensure the highest standards and best practice at all times.
How can I stay active without access to my gym?
Maintaining regular exercise can boost the immune system, improve metabolic health and reduce anxiety. To help you during our temporary closure we will be sharing tips, ideas, inspiration and ‘join-in classes’ on social media to keep you active and connected to our club, so make sure you follow us.
What if the situation changes?
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide regular updates via email and an on our website. As this is a fast-moving situation, we may need to make further changes and we will update you if this is the case.
